My shop runs a casual weekly league, split between compounds and recurves with some minor divisions for AAP events. I took lessons for a couple months, am now practicing a few times a week with a 25 pound Sage. I'm looking to stay Barebow long-term, but looking at my stock bow, I have a split path here. Do I pick up weights, a plunger, etc that is in-budget for an entry level bow and have fun with it? Or do I leave my Sage as a casual loaner bow, and save every cent for a 'real' target bow albeit the cheapest one possible? It comes down to 'do I go play now' after a couple shipments arrive, or do I save longer term for a competitive bow?
