Something which I have found rather interesting the more I explore it:
Trad archery predominantly uses bows that are simple takedown or one piece recurves or flatbow longbows with fiberglass and maple limbs, and center-cut risers. But most of these characteristics are modern innovations. Center-cut risers are late '40s or early '50s, fiberglass is '50s, the flatbow is 1930s. And the three piece takedown bow that we would recognize is a '70s invention.
So really, traditional archery is what, 1-2 generations back from people currently shooting? What is so "traditional" about it? Especially in a sport that is much older than that (even as a sport, rather than a military or hunting application).
