London clubs?

I’m considering getting back into archery after a few years away, and am looking for a good club in South West London/Surrey (UK).

I joined my local club (which shall remain unnamed but if you live anywhere nearby, you’ll probably know it by reputation) for one season a few years ago when I moved to the area. It turned out to be a bit snotty about some fairly irrelevant things, and felt as though it was more concerned with the social aspect of being a club, than with getting people into the sport or allowing those who just want to chuck some sticks down the range to get on with it.

This club put me off archery after enjoying it for many years beforehand.

I’ve had a quick look on Archery GB, but it doesn’t really say much about the atmosphere or focus of the clubs.

Can anyone with experience of various clubs in my area DM with their thoughts (so as not to shame any clubs on this forum)?

Shibuya vs Axcel vs other top end sights?

So my budget has increased and i decided i'm going for a top-level sight for the target style recurve i'm building. It seems that Shibuya and Axcel are the top end, so for anyone who has experience with either one of them, or preferably both, could you tell me the differences, pros and cons, and which one is the best value? i'm planning on buying the most expensive, so the Axcel Achieve XP - Recurve or the Shibuya Ultima RC PRO Carbon Sight . If there's any other top end sights you think are better, let me know. I want this to be the first and last sight that i ever buy, and price doesn't really matter. Another question, on the Shibuya there's an option for "Single mount" and "Double mount." What do those mean? And lastly, is the sight aperture on either of the sights suitable, or is there better after-market apertures that are better? I'm sort of thinking that is something I should be buying from my local shop so i can actually te...

Is there any reason mediterranean and slavic draw shoot from opposite sides of the bow

When the release imparts the same twist on the string? It was my understanding that mediterranean draw has the arrow on the side opposite of the bow of the draw hand because of the twist imparted on the string affecting the arrow on release but that should mean that slavic draw would suffer from that problem. Am I missing something with this? Shouldn't that mean you could use a mediterranean draw on the same side of the bow as the draw hand and not have issues? Are my new arrows overspined?

Are 400 spine, 27" arrows overspined for 30 pound draw weight? The guy just picked the arrows, cut them and gave them to me. my old arrows were 500 spine, 32" so when I said that they looked overspined, he just shrugged and said "the chart says they're ok". Can anyone confirm my doubts? submitted by /u/Astaziel [link] [comments] from newest submissions : Archery https://ift.tt/3pmjVLf via
