Hi all,
Been backyard shooting for about 2 years now with a 30lb recurve. While my form and accuracy have come a long way, I have a physiological issue that I can’t seem to get past. My elbows are hyper flexible and don’t lock where most people’s do. When my shoulders are straight and I’m in full draw, the inside of my elbow is still in the string path, and I end up with string bite. I’ve been working on my draw, trying to bend my elbow just a bit without losing draw length, but about 20 arrows in, my arm gets tired, I end up locking it, and I get string bit again. I’m wearing 2 arm guards right now on club shoot days (just joined a traditional archery club about 6 months ago) in order to reduce the amount of bruises I get. Just wondering if anyone else here has had this issue, or if anyone has any thoughts.
