The March 2021 session of the /r/Archery league is done! Prizes, final finishing positions, and whatnot inside!

Aaand that's a wrap!

Thanks to all who participated. No suspensions were handed out, and the first two weeks were rousing successes, with every single person submitting on time! Thanks, everyone, for that!

Rankings have been recalculated and can be found on the normal rankings page. For the record, the results before processing rank changes can be found here!

Squeek-er of the Week-er© (patent pending) goes out for the second time this session to /u/Fuselet, who tied in the matchup assigned this week and won by the higher-rank-gets-the-win rule!

Upset Of The Week™® is not awarded this week, as no matches were won by the lower-ranked participants this week. Booooo! (Myself included.)

And now the podium finishers for each division are as follows!

Division 1

Gold: ILikeCatsOnPillows

Silver: Fuselet

Bronze: MikeRhyne

Division 2

We have a new League #1 - everyone congratulate /u/ilikecatsonpillows! Well done! I hear /u/werkuh might be coming back, so... better defend that spot!

I'll be posting the new signup thread come the 1st of April. If you know anyone who might want to join up, please send them our way!

Thanks again to everyone, and congratulations to the winners!

I would take a takedown recurve bow as my primary SHTF/bugout weapon

This is the type of opinion that is subject to change. In the near future, deteriorating political, economic, and social circumstances may result in many people having to rely on weapons to obtain food and defend themselves on a regular basis. Alternately, some people desire to leave civilization for a life of self-sufficiency in the wilderness, perhaps temporarily, and will encounter the same challenges. Generally, firearms are the preferred weapons among people who seek to prepare themselves for these events. I have owned and used a wide variety of firearms over many years and own several right now. If I had to pick one weapon to serve as a primary weapon (a full-size weapon intended to be used offensively, such as for hunting, and carried in the hand or by sling as opposed to a secondary weapon, which is complimentary, used defensively and carried on-person and possibly concealed, such as a handgun) I just might prefer my ILF recurve over any kind of rifle or shotgun. Having Trouble Figuring out a Backstop Situation

When I was around thirteen, I got my first recurve bow, and every weekend I practiced really diligently. I feel like I got pretty good for a casual archer. But having to wait for the weekend and going to the same indoor range just to shoot my bow for an hour or two got boring. So as life got busier, I stopped shooting as much. Alas, this is my sad tale. Now I'm 22, I live in a new area, and got a new awesome 50# recurve bow! The only problem is, I don't have the time or the money to go to an indoor range, and I'd just run into the same problem. I feel like my backyard is big enough, I called the city and they said so long as I'm not shooting at other people's houses or if I have a large enough structure in the path of my shot, I was clear to shoot in my yard. At the moment I'm looking at shooting at the side of my garage where it's probably around 10ft wide and about as tall. I don't think I have quite 30ft of distance, maybe not even 25ft, but don'
