I shoot with my bow using "little eagle claw" grip (as described by GAO Ying, using middle, ring and pinky finger to grip the bow. He did not recommend this grip, he promoted "big eagle claw" instead)
I usually use my index finger as guide for full draw, like a clicker for Olympic recurve, and never had any issues before. This time I tried my friend's bow and used my usual grip, and the arrow slapped my bow hand index finger, leaving burning sensation.
I actually checked and saw others using the same grip as well so I presume it's a valid grip: (i.e. @7:36) https://youtu.be/FTHlswy4UXU So what did I do wrong? Do I need to change to "big eagle claw" (grip with all four fingers, apply force on the grip with ring and pinky fingers only)? Thanks!!
