New to archery and left handed

I thought I'd just make my own post looking for help.

I've watched quite a few videos at this point and read a few guides but found nothing except amazon links.

I'm a fit adult looking for a hunting recurve/ traditional bow that I can grow into, I've only used the 28lb compound bows that are for rental at the local range and really have the itch now.

I'm looking for recommendations, suggestions or even just things to google so I can set up my first hunting bow and spend some time at the range to get practice.

Like I mentioned in the title, I'm left handed and this has proved to be a challenge in terms of looking for a bow since all the bows I get recommended are either discontinued or only sold right handed. If it's important I'm based in California on the central coast.

More about what I'm looking for; I'm 5'11 and looking for a 62-66" recurve bow, ideally with a 35-45lb draw weight, and looking for a setup that's 500$ or less.

I don't mind spending the whole 500 IF I can find stuff that will help me learn to shoot on a recurve instead of a compound and that I can grow into and eventually take hunting. I'm just hesitant to spend 150$ on a kit. (It can't be that easy to find a quality bow right?)

Thanks in advance, I'm just a bit frustrated with my research.

Shibuya vs Axcel vs other top end sights?

So my budget has increased and i decided i'm going for a top-level sight for the target style recurve i'm building. It seems that Shibuya and Axcel are the top end, so for anyone who has experience with either one of them, or preferably both, could you tell me the differences, pros and cons, and which one is the best value? i'm planning on buying the most expensive, so the Axcel Achieve XP - Recurve or the Shibuya Ultima RC PRO Carbon Sight . If there's any other top end sights you think are better, let me know. I want this to be the first and last sight that i ever buy, and price doesn't really matter. Another question, on the Shibuya there's an option for "Single mount" and "Double mount." What do those mean? And lastly, is the sight aperture on either of the sights suitable, or is there better after-market apertures that are better? I'm sort of thinking that is something I should be buying from my local shop so i can actually te...

Are my new arrows overspined?

Are 400 spine, 27" arrows overspined for 30 pound draw weight? The guy just picked the arrows, cut them and gave them to me. my old arrows were 500 spine, 32" so when I said that they looked overspined, he just shrugged and said "the chart says they're ok". Can anyone confirm my doubts? submitted by /u/Astaziel [link] [comments] from newest submissions : Archery https://ift.tt/3pmjVLf via
