I recently had the great pleasure of shooting a friend's 21" Tiburon with short Trad limbs (so a total 62 AMO) and while at 45 lbs it was a bit overbowed for me I noticed less stacking than with other hunting-style ILF bows of the same size. Which is surprising given the short limbs!
By the end of it, I didn't feel like I had just shot several ends with a 45 lb bow, which for me would typically stack to 47+ lbs.
I don't know how much of that is due to the Formula system, or the quality of the limbs, or the geometry of the riser. Probably a combo of some sort I would presuppose. Assuming a Formula hunting rig is out of reach due to availability, I have some specific Qs about the Satori that I can't seem to find addressed in reviews.
- If you have a long draw, what is your experience with stacking between a Hoyt 19" or 21" riser versus other risers? How about the limbs, do they feel more linear on one riser or another?
- If you have also tried the earlier Hoyt "Formula" hunting risers (Tiburon, Buffalo, any others) do you feel increased stability or decreased stacking with Hoyt-made Formula limbs, versus a Hoyt-made ILF setup?
