Hinge Release Questions

I’m debating on upgrading to a hinge release this upcoming season and I have a few quick questions.

What or some good ones on the cheaper side that you guys would recommend?

Is it a lot harder to draw back a bow using only your thumb and index finger (to start) when drawing back 60+ #?

How am I supposed to accurately hit a target at long distance consistently with the whole surprise shot aspect if when I wrist strap release my pin is occasionally drifting off the archery target I have for a brief second at 50+ yards?

Can these be used for bowhunting or should I just use it as a practice tool for spring and summer shooting then switch back to an index during deer season.

I have shot a wrist strap/index release since I first started 8 years ago when I was 11 and I’m nervous about going with the “future” technology but I’m just not happy with my groups at the moment when I go past 40 yards. Too many flyers and variables that make me shoot inconsistent my

Any Answers/Opinions/Recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks, Kaden

Shibuya vs Axcel vs other top end sights?

So my budget has increased and i decided i'm going for a top-level sight for the target style recurve i'm building. It seems that Shibuya and Axcel are the top end, so for anyone who has experience with either one of them, or preferably both, could you tell me the differences, pros and cons, and which one is the best value? i'm planning on buying the most expensive, so the Axcel Achieve XP - Recurve or the Shibuya Ultima RC PRO Carbon Sight . If there's any other top end sights you think are better, let me know. I want this to be the first and last sight that i ever buy, and price doesn't really matter. Another question, on the Shibuya there's an option for "Single mount" and "Double mount." What do those mean? And lastly, is the sight aperture on either of the sights suitable, or is there better after-market apertures that are better? I'm sort of thinking that is something I should be buying from my local shop so i can actually te...

Is there any reason mediterranean and slavic draw shoot from opposite sides of the bow

When the release imparts the same twist on the string? It was my understanding that mediterranean draw has the arrow on the side opposite of the bow of the draw hand because of the twist imparted on the string affecting the arrow on release but that should mean that slavic draw would suffer from that problem. Am I missing something with this? Shouldn't that mean you could use a mediterranean draw on the same side of the bow as the draw hand and not have issues? Help with a makeshift target for the garden.

My sister is buying me a target for Christmas so it would be kind of rude to just go out and buy one and ruin the gift, so in the mean time im making a makeshift target with whatever I have about. So far I have a tall box about 4 or 5 feet tall and 3 ft wide, its about a half ft deep. I've filled it with other boxes and the centre of the target is a box filled with polystyrene blocks, if then added a layer of blankets to the front and back and plugged any space with some old clothes and jeans. Paper target stuck on the front! What im wondering before I shoot at it, is with what ive described is it going to be enough to stop a field tip punching right through if if shot from a 40lb recurve at about 10ms? It will be resting against the brick wall of the house so I really don't want them to punch straight through and hit brick. I do have an old wooden door I could potentially use as an extra backstop just incase? Its an old inside door so mostly hollow inside rather than a so...
