Brand new, never fired an arrow in my life, I have some questions and concerns, any help would be appreciated.

For Christmas, I got a compound bow and I have no idea what I am doing, I went to youtube and watched a video on set up, measured my wingspan at around 70 inches, and around 36lbs draw weight or so. I am not sure I set it up-right as the holes on the cam are not really descriptive, I find it a bit hard to draw the bow in full.

I am 6'ft and roughly 250 pounds(unsure if people need this information or not)

Is what I got, minus the little black nubs on the inner strings/wire.

Wondering how to read the cam marks, unsure if I am on slot 28 27, or 26.

I am scared to mess with it too much as this is a beast to me and I am worried about loosening the limbs too much and it exploding or something, ATM I have it turned at 6 turns to lower it, worried if I go 7 it will come undone or explode from the tension.

I was reading around and I think I may be right-handed but left-eye dominant? When drawing I have trouble seeing out of the peep sight, wondering if that is due to the draw or how I am holding it?

How do you use the aim assist? It feels so awkward, I have been trying to work on my arm strength by holding full draws for a minute or 2 at a time and been trying to get used to the peep.

How do I use the wax? just near the top the full thing? How much do I apply directly?

The reason I came to Reddit is that I have always had an interest in archery but circumstances, I know we had a club in town with an indoor range and lessons being offered, but now it seems the place is closed :( wondering if it's due to Covid, the only other places are long drives or just "traditional archery" so I am not sure I will be welcomed with my compound bow, I had half a mind to try a gun range. I am unsure if I can find anyone in my area or a club/range.

The kicker is, if I am unable to get to work, and with no coach or club or people to help..I am wondering if I should just get the refund before it's too late, I am not sure what to do, I really would like to work on this and get better even just practice shooting in my back yard.

I could really use some help, opinions, and just a bigger picture to look at here, sorry for all the questions, and thank you for reading any information would be appreciated.

I would take a takedown recurve bow as my primary SHTF/bugout weapon

This is the type of opinion that is subject to change. In the near future, deteriorating political, economic, and social circumstances may result in many people having to rely on weapons to obtain food and defend themselves on a regular basis. Alternately, some people desire to leave civilization for a life of self-sufficiency in the wilderness, perhaps temporarily, and will encounter the same challenges. Generally, firearms are the preferred weapons among people who seek to prepare themselves for these events. I have owned and used a wide variety of firearms over many years and own several right now. If I had to pick one weapon to serve as a primary weapon (a full-size weapon intended to be used offensively, such as for hunting, and carried in the hand or by sling as opposed to a secondary weapon, which is complimentary, used defensively and carried on-person and possibly concealed, such as a handgun) I just might prefer my ILF recurve over any kind of rifle or shotgun. Having Trouble Figuring out a Backstop Situation

When I was around thirteen, I got my first recurve bow, and every weekend I practiced really diligently. I feel like I got pretty good for a casual archer. But having to wait for the weekend and going to the same indoor range just to shoot my bow for an hour or two got boring. So as life got busier, I stopped shooting as much. Alas, this is my sad tale. Now I'm 22, I live in a new area, and got a new awesome 50# recurve bow! The only problem is, I don't have the time or the money to go to an indoor range, and I'd just run into the same problem. I feel like my backyard is big enough, I called the city and they said so long as I'm not shooting at other people's houses or if I have a large enough structure in the path of my shot, I was clear to shoot in my yard. At the moment I'm looking at shooting at the side of my garage where it's probably around 10ft wide and about as tall. I don't think I have quite 30ft of distance, maybe not even 25ft, but don'
