Hello there. This may be a very stupid question and I apologise for my stupidity. I'm trying to get into fletching my own carbon arrows, but I'm struggling to know how far I should go when removing the old glue. What I mean is... I've completely removed the old vane but I don't know how far I should go with removing the old glue. Like do I get as much off as possible and then buff the remaining so it's smooth? It seems like the glue leaves some sort of base on the shaft which seems impossible to get off without damaging the carbon. I've tried a combination of butter knife, dull knife, sharp knife, potato peeler, one half dog nail clipper, green scouring pad and acetone. I don't know if I'm doing to much or to little. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
