Is it unrealistic to find a pro shop that can patiently work with me and get my bow dialed in? I'm not talking about them coaching me but I'd like to get things such as my peep sight installed correctly with the bow technician knowing what's best. Correctly as in a correct to a proper anchoring position. Is this just something better to learn and do yourself? I've been itching to get back into archery lately. I stopped shooting for awhile because of frustration with my bows setup/tune... and COVID of course. I started out with a cheap entry level bow, the Diamond Edge SB-1. I went to my local pro shop and they didn't seam too helpful. At least in my opinion. Got my peep installed, had me pull the bow back to full draw and moved the peep up and down. Asking me if 'there was good'. Being a beginner at the time, you don't know any better. Knowing a little more now and looking back on it. I was leaning my head towards the peep. On separate instances I got a drop away rest installed. They didn't even want to shoot it through paper. The limb mount started to loosen up anyways. Eventually that peep started rotating and they advise me to buy new strings. The bow was fairly new so we put in a peep with tubing it keep it straight. The bow has now had a ton of arrows flung through it as I shot everyday. The strings started to get a little 'hairy'. Strings are kind of pricey. Based on the photos below would I need to replace the strings? (The peep is not tied in as I was trying to learn it myself). Last question, No matter how much I adjust the peep I cant get the string to touch my nose and corner of my mouth at the same time. From my research it has to do with the axel to axel (ATA) of the bow I have. Would need to adjust the d-loop length? Thanks for reading! [link] [comments] |
