Hello, Im new to archery but I started with a compound as it looks nicer, has regulated draw as I wasnt sure how strong I want the bow to be, is shorter and nicer to carry etc. I also got firing trigger as I dont want to shoot dry, missfired shots with the compound bow and have a possibility of damaging it
So, I bought really cheap arrows to beginner abuse them :D I have an arrowrest that dont damage the stabilizators that much so their possible weaker fins arent a problem.
I wanted to have some arrows for target practice and later, run in the woods and shoot at some trees in a cool way, roleplay way while imagining these are orks etc.(xd) that's why I also bought some sharp, one-part and quite sturdy metal arrowheads to resharp them sometimes etc. they arent expensive but quite sturdy so I can use them against harder materials without the feeling that "I damage something I spent a lot of cash on"..
I ordered 5 aluminium arrows and 5 fiber glass ones... I've read aluminium can bend against something hard and you need to straighten it later but is lighter so I thought - they're going to be my typical training target arrows... They didnt have anything about removable or sharp heads but I was like - I dont care, I dont need different heads, I'll be hitting something like a foam with them... They were around 2,3$ each.
... and I ordered 5 fiberglass ones... I've heard these are heavier but also they don't bend that much.... I thought to myself - oh, these are going to be field arrows taken to the woods (very remote, no people there at all) ... they were really cheap, around 1,7$ for each one but IT SAID they have removable arrowheads so I thought I can swap them with my sharp larger heads
... When everything was delivered it turned out its vice versa - these cheap fiberglass arrows have unmovable heads that arent even pointed but more like their ends are curved (enough for shooting archery target)... They're ok for training but these alluminium ones came with removable heads...
To the main question now - should I take these 3 alluminium arrows and install my 3 sharper heads on them and use them instead of the planned fiberglass ones for my "imagined ranger" purposes :D My bow came with aditional two allu arrows so I have 7 alluminium and 5 fiberglass ones.... That's enough arrows for me even if I damage 3 allu ones... I wanted to take 3 fiberglass ones and abuse them really hard and not care about their damage but can it be done with alluminium ones too? Because I'd have to order aditional fiberglass ones but I really ddint see any cheap ones with removable heads so they would be more expensive and my idea was for 3 cheap arrows to abuse them against harder targets.and dont use them for target practice...
But these allu ones werent expensive so I dont think its that much of a waste shooting allu instead of the fiberglass ones
